Course Vitals
This interactive program provides the practicing dental professional with a better understanding of five of the most common medical pathologies creating challenges in the dental chair, and concrete strategies for treating these patients in the office on Monday.
If you answer yes to any of these questions, this is the course for you!
- Have you ever treated a patient for a dental emergency with more than one underlying chronic disease?
- Does treating patients on more than five diabetic, cardiovascular or pain medications make you nervous?
- Do you struggle with successfully treating patients who have used illicit drugs?
- Do you ever wonder if stopping a patient's anticoagulant before treatment is the right thing to do?
- Is it always wise to give that after-hours cardiac patient a prescription for a postoperative antibiotic?
- Have you ever been concerned that the nutriceutical or herbal medications your patient is taking will interact with anything they may receive during dental treatment?
Case studies will be the focus of our day as we provide strategies for treating our patients who have:
- Bleeding disorders
- Meth mouth
- Cardiovascular issues
- Diabetes
- A propensity to take herbals and nutriceuticals
